How you can help
maintain the OH&S system by just participating!
Here at THEFX we
rely on you guys to maintain this system. All you need to do is participate as
much as possible during these meetings and seminars. During these times with me
and the rest of your peers I expect full attention and involving yourself in
identifying risk management and risk control. Bring new ideas to the table and
create a space we can all be safe in.
Creating signs and sessions where we do play-scenarios
will help you all implement these acts into practice on a daily ritual. Read
the signs we post, read the emails we’ll send out to you because they will be
filled with information. Also, pamphlets and other documents are readily
available in the front foyer and I encourage you all to read through them.
Videos will also be available and sent out regularly.
If at all you feel like we’re throwing a lot at you,
remember that we only have your best interests at hand. The resources we are
providing you will aid you in any obstacle you will face throughout your time
at THEFX. If ever you are lost in
how to handle a problem faced with OH&S please seek assistance from anyone,
chances are we have covered all the bases involved and someone will help. In
the case that this is a new obstacle please seeks assistance from a higher
source, and if the incident is resolved I encourage you to document and bring
it to me to assess and add to our policies.

Induction Training
Program
New and current employees
will have OHS training seminars continuously throughout their time at THEFX. These induction trainings will
range from:
- General training relating to health, safety and legal
elements to
- Mandatory training which will provide staff to
demonstrate their understanding of the policies and allow necessary feedback to
increase the quality of the training, environment, etc.
- Mandatory evacuation training in case of emergency
Why we keep OHS records?
We are required to keep
records of training activities, first aid treatments and incident
investigations in order to:
- Recognize reoccurring risks taking place and ways to
completely eliminate it
- Have documentation on hand for any worker compensation
legislation, etc.
These entries can also give us insight into the number
and cost of injuries/incidents per year.
What we keep on record
Records
and statistics will always be on hand; these documents will be stored
electronically as well as filed manually for back-up purposes. This will insure
that no records/documentations are ever lost and copies of the documents are
available to Employees Union as well as any employee that wished to have
articles (related to them) is available.
-
OHS seminar reviews from employees will help
us understand how to enhance your training and what you would like to focus/see
change in
-
Inspection reports from external and internal
services will be filed to expose the number of incidents were controlled and
eliminated over the course
-
Investigations into internal affairs such as
bullying, harassment, etc. will be logged on employee records to keep track of
reoccurring offenders
-
First Aid assessments/records will be logged
to determine detrimental requirements to focus on
Continual Improvement
New employees will go
through a new, improved system of training. This new training will depend on
the reviews assessed during the last employees training.
The training will be
conducted with a seminar, power point and documentations about OHS. Employees
will then have to prove competence by completing a short scenario and
questionnaire that will include:
-
Risk management
protocols
-
Evacuation exercises
-
How to assess risks
and eliminate or control
-
First Aid, fire
equipment and exits are located
Course will continue
periodically throughout their employment where small groups will be gathered to
refresh their memories, new protocols will be assessed, disciplinary acts will
be mentioned, etc. Smaller groups will ensure fewer distractions and a more
controlled environment.
All forms, policies and
procedures are compliant with OHS legislations.
